    Selection of a Research Problem

    Dear Students
    In this assignment you have to select a research topic for your ongoing thesis. The research topic could be from your teaching practice experience, area of interest, or any other during your student life from school, college or university. You are required to submit three research topics in this assignment.
    Each Student shall find a unique topic on which research can be conducted. Your supervisors will comment on the topics and finalize one from them.
    A research topic must have following four things.

    1. Phenomenon—what are you going to study in the research, e.g. Effect, Relationship, Role etc.
    2. Variables—a topic must have at least one variable that is measurable. e.g. job satisfaction, dropout, stress, teaching, learning, teaching methods etc.
    3. Subjects—who you are going to study in your research. E.g. teachers, students, parents, community etc.
    4. Population—where do you want to generalize the results of your research. e.g. public sector schools of Lahore, private sector universities of Punjab etc.
      Following are a few examples of a research topic.
    5. Measuring work stress of elementary school teachers in Lahore.
    6. Relationship between job satisfaction and job performance of university teachers in Punjab.
    7. Role of communication in students’ achievement at elementary level in southern Punjab.
    8. Effect of motivation of principals on school performance in district Sargodha.
      These are just examples for your understanding. Please find your own research topics. You may search any libraries or HEC repository for other examples.
      Kindly submit your assignment till 27th of May, 2020. Late assignments through email will NOT be considered.
