    financial loss.
The on-going COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in drastic changes in our day-to-day life, where we find ourselves spending more time at home and online. Unfortunately, cyber criminals and fraudsters are exploiting this crisis to scam innocent people and theft businesses. These criminals are capable of impersonating people, organizations and even banks.
Financial scams may take many forms and are usually conducted by `phishing’ for your sensitive financial information via mails, unsolicited telephone calls impersonating your bank’s number / any organization, SMS purporting to be from NADRA, BISP Program, Ehsas Program for COVID-19 relief, etc. or a simple ‘Debit Card Blocked’ message in the hopes of persuading the victim into sharing their sensitive personal information. Once they have this information, they can create your Internet Banking account or gain access to your existing account and transfer funds to any other account.
Please note that Meezan Bank, its officials and the Regulators will never ask you to reveal your confidential banking information such as Passwords, ATM PIN, SMS Passcodes / One Time Passcodes (OTPs). The Bank will NOT take responsibility of such financial losses where confidential banking information was shared with fraudsters.

    How to protect yourself
    • Never give out your personal details such as bank details, address, account number, passwords, PINS etc.
    • Do not click on links/attachments in unexpected and suspicious catcalls or text.
    • Take time to verify and confirm genuine sources by contacting organizations directly. Remember, only scammers will try to rush or create panic.
    • Update your devices. Use the latest software, apps and operating systems on your phones, tablets and laptops to improve your online security.

If you have doubts or are worried that you have been defrauded, scammed or experienced cyber-crime, please contact Your Bank immediately and report it on our 24/7 Bank. Please also note, Bank only receives calls at these UAN numbers and never calls its customers from these numbers.

Let us empower ourselves and spread this message to help protect ourselves, Oct family, friends and communities from scams.
