The Super Smash Bros. for Switch announcement has a lot of fans excited to see who will be some of the new roster additions to the classic Nintendo fighting game. Inkling Girl and Boy are already confirmed as new characters but what about new Pokémon?Pokémon have been a part of Super Smash Bros. since the first game on the Nintendo 64. But with a new title means new possibilities for Pokémon to be added to the roster.  Pokémon continues to be involved in Nintendo’s plans, especially with a new game coming to the Switch, we’ve come up with five Pokémon that would fit nicely on the new Super Smash Bros. roster.SPOILER WARNING! The last entry on our list has yet to be officially revealed so proceed with caution. Keep up with this story and more by subscribing now Official Golisopod art The Pokemon Company Golisopod Golisopod is one of the newer Pokémon introduced in Sun and Moon. The Bug and Water-type behemoth is the signature Pokémon of Team Skull leader Guzma, and is one of the stronger new Pokémon introduced in Gen 7.How awesome would it be to have Golisopod fighting while Guzma gives out orders in the background like The Pokémon Trainer in Super Smash Bros. Brawl? First Impression and Aqua Jet are perfect attacks for Golisopod to use against the other Smash fighters.Golisopod’s Final Smash could see Guzma appear on the field and unleash his team of Bug-type Pokémon to attack anyone nearby before Golisopod lands the final blow. Buzzwole racing Pikachu in the Pokemon anime. The Pokemon Company Buzzwole Ultra Beasts were a new kind of Pokémon introduced in Sun and Moon, so it would make sense to add one of them to the Super Smash Bros. for Switch roster. There are currently 11 different Ultra Beasts but Buzzwole feels like a perfect fit for Smash on Switch. The Bug and Fighting-type Ultra Beast has massive muscles and can be one of the heavier fighters in Smash for Switch, like Bowser or Donkey Kong. Some of Buzzwole’s attacks could include a Lunge dash across the screen or a massive stomp to simulate Earthquake.Buzzwole’s Final Smash could have the other Ultra Beasts appear through an Ultra Wormhole to put a beatdown on whoever gets too close. Marshadow is ready to perform its z-move. The Pokemon Company Marshadow The main antagonist of Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You, Marshadow also has the distinction of being the first Ghost and Fighting-type Pokémon. Marshadow can mix its hand-to-hand combat skills and sneakiness to put a hurting on the other Smash combatants. Some of Marshadow’s specials could include Focus Blast, to give the Pokémon some range, and its signature move, Spectral Thief, can act like a counter as Marshadow disappears and strikes the opponent from behind. For Marshadow’s Final Smash, look no further than its special Z-Move, Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike. Mimikyu in Pokemon Sun and Moon Pokemon Company Mimikyu Mimikyu is another Ghost-type Pokémon that would work well in Smash for Switch. Pikachu is very likely to return for the new game, so have the Pokémon that longs to get the same affection as it join in the fight.Imagine Mimikyu using its Disguise ability as a counter or having it use Shadow Claw or Play Rough as a rush attack. There’s some interesting things Nintendo can do with Mimikyu and its unique abilities but to see it facing off against or teaming up with Pikachu is something Pokémon fans would enjoy. For a Final Smash, Mimikyu can simply do its signature Z-Move, Let’s Snuggle Forever.SPOILER WARNING! Zeraora has yet to be officially announced by The Pokemon Company Pokemon Company Zeraora Zeraora will bethe last Pokémon from Gen 7 to be officially announced, but a datamine for the Alola Region games revealed this pure Electric-type Pokémon was coming. Not much is known about Zeraora except that it’s one of the Mythical Pokémon alongside Marshadow, Mew and Celebi.Although Zeraora is an Electric-type, it has access to a variety of Fighting-type attacks so specials could include Close Combat and its signature attack, Plasma Fists.Zeraora’s Final Smash can be almost anything but we’d love to see the cat-like Pokémon go feral and perform a long combo like Ike’s.What do you think of our list? Which Pokémon do you hope are added to Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch? Let us know in the comments section below.
