With the OnePlus 6 dominating tech headlines following its impressive reveal this week, fellow Android phone makers like HTC have a tough act to follow.
Now, a week before its official unveiling, we have the most detailed look yet at the HTC U12+, the Taiwanese firm’s forthcoming flagship.
Evan Blass (@evleaks) has posted press renders and a full spec sheet for the HTC U12+.
As you can see more clearly in the image above, there appears to be a neat translucent edition, which shows off the phone’s internals.

There’s a dual camera (12-megapixel, 16-megapixel) and a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. The front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with a bokeh mode.
According to the spec sheet, the notch-less display is a 6-inch panel with a Quad HD+ resolution and a pixel density of 537ppi. It also offers HDR 10 support.
The sheet, which bares a media embargo of May 23 (the date of HTC’s forthcoming event) also tells of the Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB of RAM and unto 128GB of storage (with 2TB microSD support).
As expected we’re getting the second generation Edge Sense technology, which enables users to control the user interface with a light squeeze.

There’s also always-on Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support while the handset will ship with Android Oreo. The spec sheet promises IP68 dust and water resistance and a 3,500mAh battery.
There doesn’t seem to be a lot left to reveal, but the company will offer its sales pitch on May 23.
Given the OnePlus 6 is out in the wild, we wouldn’t be surprised if this leak was more of a plant than a conventional leak, but maybe that’s just our cynical eye.
