It’s the time of the year again where a bunch of flagship smartphones for 2018 are being released and after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, it appears HTC is preparing its announcement of the upcoming HTC U12+.
The U12+ will be another high-end smartphone and its internal specifications have been previously leaked. The phone will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo along with the company’s Sense 10 skin and will use a Snapdragon SD845 system-on-a-chip and will have a 6-inch 1440p QHD+ display. Reportedly, the phone would feature up to six gigabytes of internal RAM memory as well as a maximum storage capacity of 256 GB.
HTC’s new flagship would also be waterproof and IP68 specified and will feature a dual camera setup with a 12 and 16 megapixel Sony sensor. The front facing camera uses an 8-megapixel snapper and features HTC Face Unlock. HTC will be releasing both a single and dual-SIM version of the U12+.
After numerous leaks about the phone’s internal specifications, the exterior design of the HTC U12+ has also leaked, revealing a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device and two front camera’s. Unlike many other popular and upcoming flagship smartphones, it appears the U12+ won’t have a controversial notch at the top of the screen.
It’s still unknown when HTC will officially reveal its new flagship device, although rumors are pointing towards an announcement in May.
