Most leaks and info these days originate through distributors and accidental posts and listings on webshops. We can now add the Asus Zephyrus GX501 with Core i7-8750H and GTX 1080 to that pack of leaks. On a UK website, the product has been listed, including specs and everything.
The page with information has been removed, however, there is always Google cache. The Swiss Mediamarkt website also had a similar incident. Both have listed the Asus Zephyrus GX501GI EI005T under its full name, the unit will be fitted with a Core i7-8750H processor. This is the new mobile six-core Coffee Lake-H processor that has a clock of 2.2GHz and the ability to turbo to 4.1 GHz (likely one thread though). This processor has SMT enabled btw, thus it has hyper-threading (12 threads).
The product is listed to be fitted with a GeForce GTX 1080 and it would get a refresh rate of 144Hz and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. You can also see that the keyboard placement has been shifted upwards closer to the display, that is certainly a change compared to the previous model. We assume it’s a Max-Q version. The price on the Swiss retailer site was 3499 Swiss francs, roughly 2969 euros under pre-order.
